Quality, working devices sourced typically at the end of business leases from managed environments. Rather than salvaging faulty devices for refurbishment, we focus on renewing high grade devices through comprehensive cleaning, QA testing and upgrading to give these devices a true new lease on life. You’ll benefit from superior longevity and performance than that of most other used devices.

Other Pre-Owned or “Refurbished” 🤔

Generally refers to a product that was previously owned and operated, then resold second-hand. There is no guarantee a used device was ever serviced, inspected or tested internally, or that all of it’s functions are working optimally as there are no official standards for refurbishment. Often lacking any future-proofing due to lower specs, or unseen issues such as dust and debris blocking cooling systems.

Other Ex-Lease or Off Lease 🏢

These devices typically were used by a corporate business customer for 3-5 years and then returned at the end of their lease period for replacement with newer models, as businesses are on a routine replacement cycle for their IT Assets. Often these devices are resold ‘raw’ or as-is for enthusiasts or technicians to refurbish, test and upgrade as they see fit.

In the world of ex-lease and refurbished machines, especially running Windows 11, the processor’s generation matters. Windows 11 requires at least 8th Generation to be fully compatible.

Business Grade Advantage: Our refurbished stock is usually comprised of business-grade units (Dell OptiPlex, Latitude, HP EliteDesk, ProBook, Lenovo ThinlCenter, ThinkPad). These models are built with far superior internal components and chassis materials than standard consumer devices, offering unparalleled durability.

Focus on Modern Models: Look for Intel processors that are 8th Generation or newer (e.g. Intel Core i5 8250u). These generations often include better integrated graphics and power management, which significantly boost everyday performance.

Random Access Memory (RAM) is where your computer stores information for current tasks (browsing, streaming, working on documents). If you run out of RAM, your computer can grind to a halt.

Multitasking Standard: For anything other than Chromebook’s 4GB of RAM will struggle with modern web browsing and running more than one application. Aim for 8GB to 16GB of RAM to ensure a smooth, frustration-free experience for studying, streaming, and essential work tasks.

Future-Proofing: While 16GB or more is ideal, an 8GB unit still provides sufficient headroom for current operating system requirements and general day-to-day usage. If you want a machine that is more future-proof or when opening multiple applications / browser tabs at the same time, consider a unit with at least 16GB RAM.

The single most critical factor for a fast and enjoyable user experience is the hard drive type. When shopping for a cheap computer, you must insist on a QUALITY Solid State Drive (SSD).

Our Recommendation: 128GB is really too small for most people, as Windows its self will take up a large majority of this. 256GB SSD is okay for basic use, especially if you don’t have a lot of Photos or Videos, and can make for a good low-cost option. If you want to store lots of data, especially Photos and Videos we recommend 512GB to 1TB. You can also always use external storage to offload any files you don’t frequently use to save some space and $$.

Speed Over Size: Even an older computer with a better quality, fast SSD will feel much smoother for daily tasks (booting up, opening browser tabs, loading apps) than a newer machine with a slower drive.

Durability: SSDs have no moving parts, making them far more reliable and resistant to drops or bumps. A significant advantage for travel and portability.

Quality: An over-used or low-quality SSD will be prone to very slow read and write speeds, or worse yet, complete failure. We only install drives from leading brands (not cheap imitations) which are then individually tested for health and performance to ensure better longevity, and value for money.
