What is a “refurbished” machine anyway?

The machines we stock have been used in a professional organization and have been well taken care of by internal IT departments, generally they have came to the end of their lease cycle and these businesses have replaced them. Once they arrive in our workshop we test all major hardware components like RAM, Hard Drive, Power Supply etc, then we clean out all dust, dirt and grime inside and out. Generally they will also be upgraded at this time to ensure you are getting an excellent performing system that will last for many more years to come.

Once they pass our tests, the systems undergo a full secure data erasure process that meets NIST SP 800-88 standards, which ensures the storage drives (SSD and/or HDD) are totally fresh, without a single trace of a previous owner, thus allowing us to load on a brand new operating system, drivers, updates and software giving you a totally fresh, fully up to date and secure out of box experience just like you get with a brand new computer.

With the full, proper refurbishing our systems get, they aren’t just old “clunkers” or typical second hand machines found on marketplaces. They are brought up to a standard that gives them a true new lease on life, and they will perform just as when they were new, if not even better.

What exactly do you load on the systems?

Our machines all feature pre-installed free software including: Zoom, Google Chrome, a PDF Reader, and Antivirus protection to get you started.

We also load free Open Source Office Software called Libre Office (similar to Microsoft Office, but is free, has word processing, spreadsheets and more) more info available at https://www.libreoffice.org/

So how come your prices are so good?

We do not have a physical retail store, showroom or branch, this enables us to have very little overheads and we pass these savings directly to you. We still provide the same great service and guarantees as any other physical retail shop, and we are easily contactable via Phone, Email and Live Chat via Facebook Messenger.

All of our sales are conducted from our website and delivered direct to your door via courier anywhere in NZ.

What else do I need to know?

Please be aware, with any of our Refurbished products, as these machines have been pre-loved, they may have the usual minor scuff/scratch marks on the casing. If the machine has what we would consider significant cosmetic marks, or other noteworthy defects, it will be sold at a discounted rate and mentioned in the product description / listing through our grading.
